Best for: Waters on vapour pressure deficit rather than a timer — the sensor reads air temperature, humidity and a simulated leaf temperature, and the valves open when the plant actually needs it. Watering programs can be stepped as the crop or root system develops, and night watering can be disabled. The professional choice in propagation houses

Water Max

Best for: Twelve stations each set individually for run time, watering days and repeats up to four times a day, and each usable for misting or irrigation. Propagation mist has its own start and stop times plus on/off cycle times, and night misting adjusts separately. Alternate-day watering — every day, every other day or every third day

Mini Mist

MultiGrow (AC)

Best for: Their full weather station — the outdoor half of the control loop. Protects ventilation from wind and rain damage, and feeds outdoor conditions to the Procom or Growcom so the house anticipates weather instead of reacting to it. Works standalone with other makers vent controls too

Weatherstat

Sizes: Wind speed monitor and rain sensor; records and displays high and low sensor readings
Best for: The cheap insurance on an open roof. Watches wind speed and rain and sends a safety override to every connected vent motor control, then resets automatically once the weather passes. Works with virtually any vent motor control and can be retrofitted to an existing system

VFD Modulated Fan Controls
